Bosque® Elm

Bosque® Elm (Ulmus parvifolia 'Bosque' PP#11295) is widely regarded as one of the finest shade trees available — a refined, fast-growing Chinese elm with graceful arching branches, small glossy dark green leaves, and one of the most striking bark displays of any deciduous tree. The mottled, exfoliating bark reveals a mosaic of gray, green, orange, and cream as it peels away in irregular patches, providing year-round visual interest even in winter when the tree is bare.

Unlike American elm, Bosque® is highly resistant to Dutch elm disease and elm leaf beetle, making it a reliable long-term investment for the landscape. It establishes quickly, tolerates heat, drought, and a wide range of soils, and develops a beautiful vase-shaped canopy that provides excellent shade without the mess of large seed production. Available in caliper sizes from 1.5” to 4” W.B. for immediate impact at any scale.
