Chicago Hardy Fig Tree
Ficus carica 'Chicago Hardy' — Chicago Hardy is one of the most cold-tolerant fig varieties available, capable of surviving winters in Zone 5 with minimal protection. It produces medium-sized, violet-brown figs with sweet, rich, reddish-pink flesh that's excellent for fresh eating and preserves. Even if the top dies back in a hard winter, it reliably regrows from the roots and still produces fruit the same season.
